Zirconium’s passivating oxide layer renews itself again and again even in contact with water-based media. Thus, Zirconium 702 is resistant against almost all mineral acids, organic acids and alkaline solutions. Zirconium Zr 702 is ideal for welding and still very ductile even at low temperatures.

Zirconium Zr 702 as working material is mainly used in fields of application with highest requirements at the material’s corrosion properties like chemical industries, apparatus construction, medical technology and nuclear applications. Zirconium Zr 702 is non-toxic and therefore highly biocompatible.
