Titanium Grade 2 is one of the most widely used pure Titanium grades, offering an excellent combination of high strength, good formability and outstanding corrosion resistance. With its superior resistance to aggressive environments, Titanium Grade 2 is ideal for demanding applications in the chemical industry, medical technology and marine technology, where durability and reliability are essential. Due to its castability, it is often used for producing cast valves and fittings.
Titanium Grade 2 provides exceptional corrosion resistance in a variety of acidic and alkaline media, making it particularly suitable for use in pipelines, heat exchangers and undercarriage components exposed to extreme conditions. Heat Treatment of Titanium Grade 2
Annealing (Soft Annealing): 600 – 700 °C
Stress Relief Annealing: 450 – 600 °C
The heat treatment of Titanium Grade 2 requires a protective gas atmosphere or a vacuum atmosphere due to the high affinity of titanium to absorb oxygen and embrittle it.
