Titanium forged blocks or forged parts, whether free-forging or die-forged, made from pure titanium such as Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 or titanium alloy forged parts such as Grade 5, Grade 7, Grade 9 and Grade 12, or another high-strength titanium alloy, are used in many industrial sectors.

The advantages of titanium forged parts include high strength with complex geometries and shapes. Titanium forged parts have the advantage over other manufacturing processes that no load peaks are generated at the forged shapes and contours, but instead, hardened material areas. Unlike melting titanium ingots, where it is crucial to ensure that no gases from the atmosphere can enter, titanium ingots are forged on conventional forging presses.

Considering the specific properties of pure titanium and titanium alloys, as well as the block dimensions to be forged, forging parameters such as deformation degree, forging temperature and forging duration are determined.

Until the final block size is reached, it typically goes back and forth several times between heat treatment furnaces and the forging unit. Forging within a strictly defined temperature range is critical to achieving the desired mechanical properties and microstructure. Afterwards, the block can be shaped to its final contour using conventional machining equipment. We can also deliver the desired forged parts stress-relieved and annealed.
